Marketing
Discounts, promos & BOGOs
Build percent, dollar, bundle, and BOGO deals — as promo codes or automatic rules — and manage expiring-stock promos.
Creating a discount
- Marketing → Discounts → New discount.
- The deal — choose % off, $ off, BOGO, or Bundle and set the value.
- How budtenders use it — a Promo code they type in, or Automatic (applies itself). Optionally limit to first-time guests or groups: Medical, Veteran, Senior, Employee.
- What it applies to — whole cart, categories, brands, or specific products. Add a schedule (start / end dates, daily windows, days of week) and limits (uses per customer, priority, stackable).
Toggle rules on and off from the list with Activate / Deactivate; Recent discounted sales shows what each rule is costing.
How they behave at the register
- Automatic rules apply on their own — the totals panel names the rule.
- Codes are entered in the Promo code modal at checkout.
- Manual percent discounts are always available to staff with permission (optionally gated by Manager PIN).
Promos / BOGOs: moving expiring stock
Marketing → Promos / BOGOs matches shelf stock nearing expiration with promo candidates. Filter by Needs action, Critical only, Live on POS, and more; each row shows days left, velocity, priority, and flier status (Needed → In progress → Ready → Posted).
Press Approve & schedule to put the BOGO live for its window. If a budtender rings the trigger product without its companion, the register warns before charging.
