Stations, printers & devices
Pick the right station at each computer, then give every register its own printers and drawer behavior.
Stations: POS 1–8 and HQ 1–3
Every computer running Cannavate picks a station the first time it opens the register or Store HQ. The station is remembered on that device for the whole shift.

| HQ 1 – HQ 3 | Store HQ workstations and vault boards that watch the guestlist for pick tickets. |
Budtender accounts choose from POS stations only. HQ accounts see both (“HQ stations watch the guestlist for pick tickets. POS stations are counter registers.”).
To switch later, tap the Register chip in the POS top bar, or in Store HQ open the profile menu → Change station.
Per-station devices (Settings → Devices)
In Store HQ, open Settings → Devices. Each station — every register and HQ workstation — gets its own hardware setup:
- Receipt / drawer printer — network printer host and port for that station.
- Vault pick-ticket printer — where fulfillment pick tickets print.
- Auto-print receipt — print automatically after each sale.
- Open cash drawer on cash sales — kick the drawer when cash is tendered (network printer only).
- Auto-print vault pick ticket and Auto-print vault tub tag — hands-free printing for vault workflows.
Use Test receipt and Open drawer to confirm the hardware responds, or Reset to defaults to fall back to the store-wide setup.
Store-wide defaults (Settings → Hardware)
Settings → Hardware holds the store defaults that stations inherit until you override them in Devices:
- Receipts — This computer (browser print dialog) or Network printer (silent printing + drawer kick).
- Labels — Download label files or a Network label printer for shelf labels and vault tub tags.
Test label, Test receipt, and Open drawer are available here too. Save with Save hardware.
Register settings on the POS
On the register itself, the gear icon opens Register settings (managers only):
- Tax mode — Illinois cannabis rules (recommended; set Store location, adult-use and medical sales tax %) or Manual flat rate.
- Receipt printer — this computer vs network printer (IP + port), with Test print.
- Checkout options — Auto-print receipt after sale, Open cash drawer on cash sales (network printer only), Require manager PIN for discounts.
